Flat - water tank responsibility

Hi folks,
After a bit of advice.
I own a top floor flat which has sole access to the loft space. In the loft are 3 cold water tanks, serving each flat.
My neighbours tank is currently leaking into my home, and he is insisting it is my responsibility as owner of the top flat. The tank serves only his property.
I have read my deeds and it does state:
The feuars will also bear an equitable share of the cost of maintaining all roofs, common television systems......cold water supply tanks.... (shortened version!)
Am I reading correct I need to even pay a share of replacing a tank which does not serve my flat at all?
Any advice is appreciated

Are you in Scotland? There's a difference between England and Scotland in how things work. It sounds like your deeds are fairly clear (and recent!)...0

Thanks for replying Rosemary. I am in Scotland, yes.
Does read pretty clear, was just surprised since it doesn't serve my home. Thought I'd run in past everyone.0 -

You could argue forever that the roof doesn't do much for the lower flats, or that you're only responsible for pipework in your flat. It's easier that everyone is responsible for everything even vaguely common0 -
Maybe turning it off would galvanise everyone's thoughts??0

My thought was that if the water tank is your problem, then the solution is to shut off the water to it and drain the tank down. Problem solved. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0
