    TSB are a major PIA

They opened their account no problem, but several weeks later they declined ATM withdrawals and outgoing Faster Payments for no apparent reason.

They wouldn't accept my driving licence (in branch) for ID and I had to jump through various hoops to simply close the account.

Never had problems like that elsewhere.

I have the closing of my TSB Classic Plus in process at this time. Very easy to do: I moved all my Direct Debits and Standing Orders to Natwest, then moved my balance to Natwest, then went into my local TSB branch with my passport and debit card and closed the account.

The remaining balance which is accrued interest will be sent to me by cheque. I don't have a problem with that.

You did give a signature, using one of those electronic devices. I remember doing so, as I had one of my little glitches and stopped writing mid signature, but was told I had to complete rather than starting afresh.
  • this pretty much confirms my thoughts on TSB, they've sent me an email for both accounts advising that i must log on as I have a secure message to be read re:summary of interest. just one issue, you can't log in if the accounts are closed!

(they are genuine emails from TSB, info is correct & detailed)
