Ashbourne Market Place Car Park

Hello Money saving experts.

Earlier this year myself and my Partner made use of what we thought was a free carpark in the centre of Ashbourne (Market place).Upon returning to the car we found that ourselves and at least three other motorists had been served a PCN.

Now here's the dynamics of the situation.

Some kind gent had also left notes on the windscreen stating that the car parks sign was lying on the ground near a fountain/statue (which by the way obstructed our view to the only ticket machine) and by taking pictures we could get the fine overturned.

The other affected parties as well as my partner proceeded to gather photographic evidence :-but here's the kicker our phone got water damaged after a particular nasty downfall thus we lost everything. We have now received a court letter from Notts' county council (strange that,Ashbournes in Derbyshire).

Does anyone have any experience in a case like this? Can we bring to attention others complaints,or will this be simply brushed aside as not relevant to our case?

AND NOW A TOTALLY DIFFERENT CASE.....

Earlier this year i had a letter through from Premier Park in relation to a alleged parking contravention on Falmouth Maritime carpark (think i have the ticket still somewhere and we're sure we did not over stay).Had been advised to ignore these parasites...did so and it escalated to a couple of D(e)RP letters "advising court action".

After reading some of the threads on these forums i now have gathered you can unfortunately no longer ignore these jokers,so was wondering if there was a real risk of being taken to court but mainly can i still apply for a POPLA code this late down the line??And if so is there any sort of late POPLA request draft that i should follow?

I've read through the Newbie thread but just need a bit more clarification.

Thank you guys :D

That's a bit odd. Did you appeal to the TPT? Anyway Pepipoo.com is better for council tickets

  • We rang a dispute number and told them what had happened and attempted to send a email with pictures attached..only thing is we were in the peaks with only E connectivity rather than 3G then got caught in a almighty down pour.Hence broken phone and no evidence :(

however a couple of weeks ago the sign was still broken and had just been moved to a different location :/

Try a freedom of information request about when the sign was replaced from the council.

Just send the BPA appeal from the NEWBIES thread anyway. Shows you are not ignoring it but you will not get POPLA this late. Don't pay nor worry about debt letters. Come back if they ever try a small claim and keep ALL paperwork for six years, telling them if you move house, so you can't get a previous address sneaky default CCJ (which some PPCs currently are prone to do).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Is that a letter i send to the BPA or PremierPark Coupon-mad?From your experience's on here do they usually push for court action? It'd be nice to be face to face with the cretins.

it goes to the PPC if they are a BPA member , not to the BPA

there are 2 templates , 1 is for appeals to members of the BPA , the other for members of the IPC , neither appeal template goes to the BPA nor the IPC
