Home insurance direct debit

Hi there,
I was just wondering if you could all help me.
I just noticed that Nationwide have continued to take my home insurance direct debit for the past 2 years even though I had canceled it.
Can I ask for an indemnity for this do you know? Or what would be my next step?

It'll presumably be the insurance company taking it, rather than Nationwide - you did cancel the policy with the insurance company rather than just cancelling a direct debit instruction at the Nationwide end? Assuming this is the case then complain to the insurance company and they should reimburse you....0

Sorry I should have been more specific, Nationwide is the home insurance provider.0

why not ask for a refund?0

Yes I will. I just didn't know if the process was different because it's with my own bank. That's all.0

Either approach should be fine for recovering funds.
But you need to advise the insurance arm to stop charging in future.0 -
