Power plugs

I've just moved my smart TV to a back room and connected it to the net via a power plug. If I use a power plug to install another device, am I going to reduce the signal or does using multiple power plugs make no difference?

It won't affect the strength of the signal.

However like any internet signal if you have multiple users it affects the bandwidth. This means that it can affect the speed of downloading/uploading data - especially when downloading large amounts e.g. a BBC IPlayerTV programme in HD

Ta. Sorry to be dense but does multiple users mean actual users (i.e. all using different devices at the same time) or multiple devices (only one in use at a time - I live alone).

You could use a ethernet cheap switch to add extra devices to your Powerline plug. Powerline adaptors with three or more ethernet ports are available I have my TV, Sky and Home cinema plugged into something like this: http://amzn.eu/eWftt4j

'Multiple users' in this sense means devices accessing and downloading from the internet. If you are only using one at a time there will be no effect.

Some houses have several PCs, tablets, Smart TVs all on the internet at the same time.
