    Straight off, no.

You have to apply for a different current account and if they cannot give you that one they may offer you an alternative which may include the basic account. Try applying for the classic account.

The docs you outline might be ok but you'll need to take them into a branch. Photo ID would be better. You need to get on the electoral roll though: Try your local council's website.
  • Hi-thanks! I've not a cat in hells chance of getting a standard a/c & would just ask for the basic one as no credit history/electoral roll (long story re: roll but not on it for my g/f's safety-she had a stalker & anyone can view the electoral register https://www.gov.uk/electoral-register/view-electoral-register at the local electoral office in the prescence of an electoral officer), & no adverse credit.
  • you should be able to get a basic bank account - one you have no debt with mainly...

another option is looking at prepaid current accounts. I use 1 called icount which works well for me (i had issues with debt) and been using it for a number of years now. These dont do credit checks and as long as you are verified the give you account details straight away

There are others out there though - good luck

But whether you get a Lloyds Bank Basic Current Account depends on what they say not what you say. To my knowledge their Basic Bank Account cannot be directly applied for.

On the electoral roll, if that's your attitude you can probably say bye-bye to just about everything or at the very least say bye-bye to electronic ID.

Managed to see them today-Club a/c offered-can't believe it! With the ID I mentioned...! They say in 3-6 months o/draft & credit (not that I really want this but for emergencies) will be offered too!

Anthorn-whats' with the 'if thats your attitude' bit....did you not see the issue my g/f has? This girl had serious issues & potentially was dangerous. I don't need any judgement thank you. So not being on electoral roll is stopping me getting an a/c...read above lol!
