Ok thanks that's great. Confirmed there is no charge for it and created an agreement to gift you the furniture.
The time scales are ambiguous, but that works well for you, I'd say you have a good case of ownership.
Can you include the follow-on email just to see what it says. (the one about keeping it)0 -

I could've been minded to say - it's been disposed or sold on already.
Ultimately it's a case of balance, there is a good reason to claim ownership.
But this would probably provide ultimately a negative reference and possibly a claim against the deposit (which on balance you would probably win, but would be additional hassle)0 -
thanks for the help mate.. I guess we will take the drawers with us and see what happens0

I get free legal advice through Unite with Thompsons solicitors just spoke to them about it.. They basically came back with exactly what you said. There was an offer which was accepted in writing.
thanks again0 -
I believe the critical sentence in the email exchange was your question:Could you confirm that this will be removed from the checkout inventory and no charge for them levied?
Thus they must have pased into your ownership, since they are no longer in the LL's ownership.
Had they remained in the LL's ownership till the tenancy ended, they would have to remain on the inventory, be checked for presence and condition, and only then could you take ownership and remove them.0 -
Thx guys for your help after showing LL the emails he accepted that we had made a transaction i also increased my goodwill payment to £75.. So the matter is sorted.. Thankyou all very much for your help0
