Wescot Credit Services - fishing trip? Help needed

Hi all
I received a text from Wescot Credit Services asking me to contact them and quoting a reference. I ignored it as spam after reading this forum.
I have now had a letter, well more of a note addressed to me and requesting that I call them. It has my name and address correct and next to the heading "What is this about" is the same reference number.
Now I do have debt, but it's all in good shape and as far as I am aware there is no reason they should be contacting me.
Looking on this forum I should send them a "prove it" letter, but unfortunately the link is broken.
As there is no context in their letter do I ignore it as a fishing trip, write back asking for context, or call (everyone seems to say this is a bad idea but not why if you follow up in writing).
All advice much appreciated.

Ignore all forms of contact from scum - this is pretty much standard advice really. If they turn up on your doorstep order them off your property, withdrawing implied right of access (WOIRA) at the same time; do it verbally. If they can't tell you in the letter who you supposedly owe money to, then enough said.0 -
Hi GingerBob
Thanks for quick reply. You're not one to mince your words on DCAs are you? lol
Ignoring it was my first thought, but the letter also states what to do if you are not the person named, so I wondered if they would put details of any debt they think I owe in correspondence that may be received by someone other than the intended target/victim
Thanks again0 -
