A dear friend has one request for a present - a decent, light weight, folding umbrella.
I have checked out a few in Department stores but they are very poor quality (although funnily enough they were not cheap!).
Any pointers to decent brands would be gratefully received.

MI bought a M & S plain black man's folding brolly for about £10 several years ago, and it functions well. None of them, in my experience, are any good in strong winds. Perhaps there is a brand out there which will function in wind without turning inside out and breaking, but I've not come across it myself. HTH.

Just been to look at my best ever umbrella- turns inside out but has never broken (but I obviously put down once I realise it's that windy) and it's a Fulton - I've never heard of them and got it for a pound in a chazzer about 3 years ago as it seemed quality and I had just gone through about 3 totes umbrellas in a year (light but useless) so I fully endorse that brand but have no clue who stocks them xxxx0

The only downside to those clear ones, as opposed to the opaque kind, is that you can't pose about with them and flirt around the edges, like a demented suvvern belle.
Umm, I guess by the deafening silence that this only an issue for moi.....?:rotfl:
