Car insurance for three month period

Hi everyone

I have a brand new lease car being delivered in early March. The insurance for my current car is due for renewal next month. As the new car is on lease, I won't need separate insurance. I plan to sell my current car when I get the new one.

What's the best way to get insurance for a three month period?

Cheapest way will be to buy an annual policy, (make sure there are no claims against it!) and cancel when you are finished with the car.

So who is paying for the insurance on your lease car when it arrives?

Insurance is included in my monthly payments to the lease car company. So are all the maintenance costs, breakdown cover, etc.

So you have no choice of insurer, and will almost certainly be paying well over the odds for it. If you have an option to arrange your own insurance it is likely to be worth at least looking into it.
  • There's no option to arrange my own insurance, but the lease car is through my employer and it's a good deal for me, so I'm ok with that.
