New FlightChecker Feedback

Well many thanks for this a great idea. Now for some comments, a calendar would be nice and I agree with others about including the airport codes. This is because some cities have more than one airport, for example Barcelona has the main one and then another one miles away which Ryanair uses. I would never want to go to that one because it takes ages and costs a lot to get into the city from there. I know that and could choose, others might just assume they are going to the main airport.0

seem to be having a problem refreshing, when i select any other airport the previous one keeps appearing and i have to start from the home page again,Div 1 Play Off Winners 2007

You have the airport code for QNY - New York Marine Air Terminal alongside an airport called Nyiregyhaza, which I believe is in Hungary?0

Hi Martin,
I cannot check Jet2 flights from Leeds Bradford airport on your new flight checker web site why is this?0 -
I preferred the previous layout - with flight times displayed without having to click on a flight.
The lack of the "Any departure airport" in this new version makes this cumbersome to use. Most people have a number of airports within reasonable driving distance, and many destinations are only served from certain airports, and if the price is good, time is convenient, then it is worth travelling further afield. With the new version you have to enter 5-6 departure airports, when by picking "All departure airports in the previous" version the same information could be accessed in one go!
It would also be useful to be able to pick multiple departure and destination airports. e.g. if going from Lichfield to Javea (Spain) you would select depart from BHX, EMA, Coventry, Luton, Manchester or Bristol to Alicante, Valencia. Murcia or Madrid (the latter although 4 hrs drive would allow a couple of days in Madrid).0 -
I 1000% agree with meenergy. There's no point having "I'll go anywhere" if you don't have a "I'll fly FROM anywhere".0

Some very useful functionality in the old one seems to have been lost: it doesn't show in the summary results which airline each flight is with. That seems to me quite an important piece of information that can help to narrow down which flights to click on - for example, if you want to go out and back with the same airline.
It's also not very obvious that clicking on a flight will expand the details of that flight within the page - I expected the links to go to another page, or the airline's site.
If you're still taking requests for further features, one thing I would really like is to be able to select multiple departure/destination airports in one go - for example, I want to fly to Geneva but don't mind whether I fly from East Midlands, Birmingham or Coventry.0 -
Thanks for all your feedback folks. We've made as many tweaks as we can in time including and some of the things you noted were deliberate. Here's a note on the changes - any more thoughts of the updated version are welcome
1. Airport codes added
2. Days of the week added
3. Duration been defaulted to N/A. (the idea of this is that if you want to go for roughly a week, the outbound flights of your departure time plus 1 week are lined up so they're next to each other.)
4. We have put a reset fields box in
5. We have added a search feature from any destination searches
6. We've added ahighlight in any destination searches so that if you click any flight, all similar flights and returns are highlighted
7. Any UK departure is there but its in the drop-down there's no button (it was rarely used according to our stats)
8. Selecting multiple airports is something we want to do - it's on the list for future but we can't do it just yet. Though we have added 'search all France' and the aim is to add seach alls for some major cities.
9. There's no jet2 because Jet2 hasn't responded to our requests!
10. Airlines in search display not drop down, we're trying to add this (not for any destination as there's no room, but for specific destinations)
I think I've covered it all.... please do have another play with it and see if it's getting there for you
