TSB current plus, accounts security locked when withdrawing funds

i've got 2 plus accounts, had them since April 2014 & have only recently transferred any money out of them, just left them moving £750 per month between each account to get the interest on the £3k balance.

on trying to withdraw funds, it's obviously triggered security & both my accounts ended up being locked & i had to go through a whole raft of questions on the phone before they were unlocked & the money transferred out.

i appreciate it's better to be safe than sorry so i understand why the checks are there. i presume this is because it was the first outgoing transactions on the accounts? my husband also has 2 plus accounts that we now need to withdraw from, is there any way to do this without it triggering security? perhaps a smaller transfer (£50-£100?) to our joint account with santander, then withdraw a larger amount once that's gone through ok?

thanks for any advice :)

    Quite probably.

But the modest then larger amount may not be any better.

On a couple of new accounts, including helping a family member who is underconfident online, I/we did a first payment of £5 just to check things, then followed with a larger amount a few minutes later. This was temporarily blocked pending a chat with the fraud unit.
