DVLA fine for passed on car
Comments

The letters will keep coming, even if you write back, nobody reads them and the whole system is pretty much automated. They're usually signed by someone who either has a death wish OR a fake name (I can't remember her name right now).
The only way to settle these DVLA fines is to go to court or pay.“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

If the DVLA squad find the car, they will clamp it if it is untaxed on private ground, or impound it if it is on the road.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
(except air quality and Medical Science)

Just tell the DVLA that the deceased had sorned the car before his death and that it must have got lost in the post. They can't confirm or deny that it was posted. The DVLA will always use that excuse if it was the other way round.
Then go and tax the car and put in in daughter's name.0 -

Obviously, it's entirely up to the deceased's partner if she wants to help the daughter financially.0 -
No, just do what angrycrow suggested. And whatever you do, don't start making up stories, as some have suggested. It's quite possible the DVLA will be happy to get the situation regularised and just ask for tax from the daughter from the time she became the RK.

Because that is all she is legally bound to pay. If they asked for the full amount, I'd tell them where to go.0
