CP PLUS Charge notice rec'd - Has anyone else dealt with them please?

Hi

I need some help please.

I parked over the free parking period at a motorway services, and the letter states they require £100 within 28 days, or £60 within 14 days.
I honestly didn't realise there was a time limit, or I wouldn't have parked there for so long.

I parked there to buy a sandwich / used the loo, and spent about 15 mins trying to mentally prepare myself for the medical appt I had nearby, which was to last 40 mins max, so I thought nothing of leaving the car there.

Unfortunately I had to wait and hour and a half to be seen, and by the time I got back to the car, I'd gone over the time allowed to park there (though I didn't realise this until the letter came today)

Has anyone had any success with appealing through this company please? As I'm on disability benefits, this is quite a sum for me to find, even at the reduced rate.

Thanks

ALL motorway services have by law to give 2 hrs free parking , often there are meters to pay for extra time .

being unaware of UK law will not assist you

you should contact the company that decided to hold the appointment at a motorway services , and then have a staff shortage that caused your delay , to contact the parking co on your behalf

unless they just decided to use the services as a free venue , did they?

yes , there are DOZENS of MSA threads on here and over on pepipoo , about MSA,s and this company do feature in some of them

the ability to pay a judgment has never been a defence in court, judges make judgments all the time and the decision is based on legal grounds , not ability to pay , sorry

ideally you complain to the MSA agent (welcome break or whoever) and try to get the charge cancelled

and follow the appeal advice in the NEWBIES sticky thread too , appealing as KEEPER (not driver)

how long was the alleged "overstay" ?

If anyone has dealt with CP Plus, then I'd be grateful to hear from them.

    Thank you

You can't view this forum effectively on a phone. Come back when on a PC or laptop (even at your local library if you need to) where you would be able to simply search the board for 'CP Plus' and deal with this appeal soooo easily it's laughable.

You can copy templates to appeal as registered keeper (NOT DRIVER) and you would WIN the appeal - but we are not showing them to someone on a phone because it simply isn't possible to use the forum properly the way you are trying to.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD
  • On POPLA appeal - within the past two months.

I posted the details on the POPLA appeals thread.

    Good luck!
