Over night my pc monitor has developed a fault. It is emitting a very high pitched sound. Please any ideas?

Make and model of monitor, is it an older fluorescent tube type rather than a more modern LED type ?

Is it an all in one PC ?

Unless you know what you are doing and can DIY, it's generally not economical to have repaired as second hand or new is so cheap.

I've had that on old CRT monitors just before they die.

N.B. You should never try to disassemble a CRT monitor as they can hold huge voltages (~30,000 V) even after being unplugged for a long time.
