    I've been Money Tipped!
Mine is in the bathroom, in the space left from removing the bath and installing a shower cubicle instead.

We had an electrician install it and he made sure it was safe by drilling and taking the cable through the bathroom wall and fitting it to an RCD socket on the kitchen side of that same wall.

Plumbing was easy as we just accessed the partially redundant bath waste pipes.

We had a Building Regs inspector in that room later for another totally unconnected matter and nothing was said so I assume that no laws were broken.

It is way more convenient than having it in the kitchen as in any case, I have never thought that sorting/dealing with one's dirty laundry around the main food preparation area is necessarily the most hygienic way of going on!
  • It would be better in many ways to have it in the bathroom. At the moment there is a washbasin with cupboards underneath in the space, but there is room to relocate that elsewhere and we can use the old plumbing , like paddys mum has.

The only negative thing is that at the moment it is on a concrete floor, if we move it, it will be on a suspended wooden floor, but I assume if we are careful to stand it where the joints are, the weight will not be a problem.

At the moment it is in an alcove off the kitchen, where the boiler is and I think originally was a pantry. We could then use this space for storage.

If we decide not to move it, we will havesome cupboards put in the bathroom space and use that for storage.

Thanks all for your input, much appreciated x

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton
