Hi MSEers',
Please help! I've had yet another manically busy week at work - and tomorrow is Club night and I'm completely lacking ideas with what to do with them ... first time in 3 years!
Girls aged 7 - 10 for 1.5 hrs followed by Girls aged 10 - 15 for 1.5 hrs.
So far this term we've done some badge work / arts and crafts, been to the beach (our halls on the beach), had a party, had a games night and made flower pots and painted seeds ....
I've no time whatsoever to go to the shops between now and tomorrow - I've got a reasonably well stocked arts and crafts cupboard at the hall, but it doesn't contain anything hugely inspirational. An old faithful is to get them to make buildings out of newspapers ... but I haven't got any, and they wouldn't know to bring them in.
We have got a reasonably good fund pot, so don't be put off by lack of money (about £100 each max group max), as I can always use your ideas next week!!!
Thanks so much for any ideas you come up with

Why not let them make things for an Halloween party? Let them decide what sort of things they would like at the party?
What about a play? Get them to make up their own play? Please Thank Me
Thank You0 -
I like the Halloween / party idea (we had a party last week so might be a bit soon) could do this in a few weeks time.
I also love the play idea ... have you any thoughts on themes (in the past months we've done High School Musical, Disney and a Gang Show (which is anything that want to sing, dance, play instrument etc.)
How rubbish am I - I am so lacking in ithought tonight x0 -
Could you have an old fashioned games evening? Ludo, draughs. snakes and ladders, snap, monopoly, scrabble for the older ones, or beetle even bingo?0
-
Mmmmm, I'm liking that idea - I've got an old games compendium somewhere - we could set up games at different tables and rotate round, would be suitable for all the ages!!! Or, I could print out some squares on paper and they could decorate their own snakes and ladders board, or draughts set, and make counters ... how could we make a dice?0

Dice: use a hexagonal shaped piece of card. Draw on 6 lines from the centre and number each segment. Put a match through the centre and then spin. Wherever it lands.....

Though in the back of my mind, I am sure I have seen juggling cubes with numbers 1 - 6 on, but not sure. However it may be fun to juggle till you drop the 'cube', and then you have to play the number that is shown? If you are at a poker game and you cannot figure out who is the patsy then guess what...you're the patsy - Warren Buffet0 -
I know I'm a bit late replying to this but this might be of use in the future anyway. I'm a cubs leader and we did this with our group yesterday.
We had a aircraft theme night which is great for boys of course but I think the girls could enjoy it too. We made paper airplanes and helicopters - I used instructions from website www.paperairplanes.co.uk. It is brilliant and even has videos showing you how to make some of them which is very useful as they can get quite complex.
We made 2 of the planes (the Rapier and Nicks, I think) and the Paper Helicopter which they all loved. The helicopter is particularly effective if you have a stage that they can stand on to drop it from a height. We then let them colour the planes with their own design and then had plane races to see whose went the furthest. We finished off with a quiz matching logos with their airline (the Qantas kangaroo, BA ribbon etc).
Anyway, hope this helps someone. Happy to swop ideas anytime - always good to get new inspiration to keep them busy and me saneish! :rotfl:
