It appears Quidco were unable to offer an outright winner to their energy collective. Is this the future of collectives, including the Cheap Energy Club?

Rather confusingly, their headliner states

Great news, we have found 57 energy plans that will reduce your energy bills

however, all 57 tariffs were more expensive than my current tariff, including the Npower Online Price Fix December 2017, they offered. It's just a standard assumption / statement.

If you like what you see do act swiftly, energy prices have seen a lot of movement over and over the last few days we have seen nearly 20 suppliers increase their costs.

I had the exact same thing, apparently it's great news that I can switch to a Sainsbury's tariff that is not only £80 more expensive per year, I can also get lumbered with exit fees, no thanks!

As energy prices have risen by c.15% it is hardly surprising that collective switches are losing their appeal. That said, it hasn't stopped one energy comparison site (collective deal) telling me that I will save £257 on my current £660 year energy cost. Use of the OFGEM savings methodology to encourage consumers to switch to a deal that will actually cost more is something that needs to be reined in.

The :money: Money Show tonight, offers advice on energy switching, but to be honest, i doubt it will say anything the more ardent "switchers" don't already know.

It appears E.on have already taken the "two tariff only" stance?

The writing has been on the wall for energy price "hikes" for most of the year, to be fair.

Ironically, the price of petrol has fallen by 8p a litre locally so far, in less than a week.
