New combi boiler

Hello,
Just had a quote for the fitting of a new combi boiler to replace my old back boiler, and just wondered if £1900 total seems like a fair price.
The quote goes something like this.
Removal of back boiler, and fitting of Biasi combi boiler in bathroom (old airing cupboard).
TRVs and locksheild valves on radiators.
Upgrade of gas pipe to 22mm
Fitting of room thermostat.
Commisioning and adding of inhibitor.
Thanks for any advice.

Good evening: The boiler in your quote is not a popular brand with installers (but is with service engineers;) ) If you spend just a bit more, you could get yourself a Glow-worm or Alpha product.. they are both manufacturers with better reputations than Biasi. My OH, Corgi Guy, would not install a Biasi and would advise any customer against purchasing one. See what price you can get for a better boiler...at least 3 written, full speciifcation quotes are in order from CORGIs who have been recommended to you by a source you trust

It really needs a power-flush and preferably a magnaclean to mop up the rest of the debris.
I have no idea where you are, but £1,900 is cheap imho.
As Canuclehead said, do not under any circumstances get a Biasi fitted - you will regret it.0 -

I am not familiar with the boiler but can recommend Glo-Worm. I had one fitted recently (38KW) and have been very impressed with the flow and efficiency.
Your quote does sound on the cheap side however I just had a 3 bed detached house replumbed from scratch with the above boiler, convector rads all with TRVS, timer and wireless room stat, including a new mains connection from the road and first fix in teh kitchen and bathroom for £4,000 in Surrey. Other quotes were around £6,000. I was lucky enough to find a plumber who had just set up their own business and was not VAT registered yet. Anyway the point is the only way you will know if it is good value is by getting a number of different quotes.0 -

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with BIASI boilers. They suffer from not being a fashionable brand- that is all. Most of the components are from the same manufacturers used by the more popular brands like Valiant , Ideal or Worcester
Often service engineers will rubbish a product they arent familiar with.It kind of shifts the blame if they dont know how to fix it;)0
