Claiming JSA & Working Under 16 Hours - how does this work??

Hi All,
I am not sure if anyone can help me, but please give any advice or pointers.
I have been signing on for a few weeks and I have been fortunate enough to find a job 12 hours a week through an agency which will last for 4 weeks. Do I close my JSA claim or does it remain 'open' but I am not paid JSA as I will working less than 16 hours and so I stay on JSA (contribution based)? And I simply declare my hours and earnings? The government website said that JSA is available to those working less than 16 hours a week (or this only roles that they send you to as part of a work programme?)
Also the agency said that I need to give them my P45 from the job centre so that I am paid the correct tax code. But to have a P45 I would need to close the claim. I understand how rapid reclaims work thanks to the advice I was given on another thread, but at that time I was going to be working full time for 3 months but that role fell through, so I am now about to start this part time role. I don't want to get into trouble with the job centre or mess up my tax/pay, so any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Keedie

Thanks NYM, that link and website are very useful. I will have a better idea of what goes on when I speak to my work coach this afternoon. As I need to sign for the last two weeks, but at least I will have a better understanding of what to do for the next month - as he always gives me conflicting information.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle

When I did some work on JSA I had to fill out a form stating the days and hours I worked. The amount I received for JSA was then adjusted depending on hours/days worked.Come on you Irons0

Thank you Zinger. My work coach put a note on the system but didn't ask me to complete a form, so i'll check with him what else I need to do.Debt Free Diary:- The Mental Debt Struggle
