Theres fault lines horizontally and vertically..
Re the electrics - it was a mixture of both and I paid for the items from the list I was given that sounded sensible. one item was to do with there being no earth to the consumer unit another was converting an under sink pair of sockets to be outdoor / in waterproof housing type. While the latter might have been a preference to some, I appreciated it when 2 days later I had a blocked plughole / drainage and overflowing sink as the washing machine emptied :-S0 -

Hi,
Thanks for everyone's contributions. I just thought I would update on this.
So the surveyor visited before Christmas and made a few comments saying it's not structural so they aren't responsible for pointing this sort of thing out, not our job, no fault here etc.
They were so adamant of this that a few days later they offered to pay me an amount towards getting it fixed, equal to around half the cost of the fee I paid for the report. I had to accept this on a without prejudice basis, so of course I'm *not* saying there's any fault with the surveyor here...
Anyway, glad I got in touch. The idea of getting surveys as I see it is partly to get someone in the know to help point out issues for you, much like if you buy a first car you get your dad or a car expert mate to come along and help advise.
Botrom line, if you have similar issues to this it doesn't hurt to get in touch with your surveyor.0 -

I'm convinced the full structural survey is just the same !!!! presentented in a slightly different way."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0
