G24 parking charge letter

Hi,
A £70 parking charge (£42 if paid in 14 days) has been received from parking at County Oak Crawley. This place is full of very large shops, Next, PC World, B&M, Costa, etc.
The parking time limit is 150mins, we were there 216mins, so 46mins over. We were there with our 4 year old and 1 year old so everything takes a long time, including numerous visits to the toilet for the 4 year old and nappy changing for the 1 year old. I've been there loads of times over the years and never knew there was a limit. There's quite a bit of shopping to do there and the place is growing. I think we went to pretty much every shop there and bought from a few but not sure if we have receipts. We also had lunch there!
It would've been difficult for us to only spend 150 mins there and eat lunch with 2 little kids in tow.
I have read a lot of the other posts and would just like clarification.
I gather I should reply to G24 but what should and shouldn't i say to them? Is there a template that people have been using?
Thank you.

yes there is ; the IPC template in the newbies sticky thread, so please read that thread
after that its ignore for 6 years unless the RK gets an LBC or MCOL in the post
an ideal solution is complain to the landholder and get a cancellation0 -
Sorry, I'm not used to this forum. How do I find that?0

top of this forum you are in , second thread down , essential reading for NEWBIES like yourself

so ABOVE your thread0 -
Thanks a lot.
I was looking on my mobile, not as clear.0 -
Is it the template under this heading?
THE FIRST APPEAL TO THE PPC
Don't forget to include a copy of any receipts or bank transactions, proof of patronage if 'the driver' (third person!!) was shopping. And a copy of the Blue Badge if a disabled person was 'an occupant of the car' because in some cases that gets cancellation. Some PPCs, like ParkingEye, cancel early with proof of patronage and it's worth trying, as long as you are careful not to say who parked.0 -
just a few lines down beginning
Dear {name of IPC member, only IPC members for this version!!!}
Re PCN number:
I am not ignoring your charge for a purported parking infraction. As the driver has not been identified, I require the following information so that I can make an informed decision:

Don't try doing this on a mobile 'phone as you will miss important bits of information, and it screws up the formatting as well.
Wait until you can get onto a PC or laptop then you will find things a lot easier.
You should also edit your original post to remove information about who did what. Just refer to The Driver or The Keeper.
I hope you didn't use your real name to sign up to MSE.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

That's great.
Thanks again0 -
We've now received a reply from G24.
There's a lot to type but I'm sure you've heard it all before.
In short -
1. Parking charges are fully enforceable and do not amount to a "penalty".
2. I can appeal within 21 days of this letter.
3. Confirm that they have the contracted parking management. They have been successfully audited.
There are sufficient signs at the car park.
The drivers info has been lawfully obtained.
They say that they will not respond to me anymore but I can appeal to the IAS.
If I choose to do nothing they will seek to recover via debt recovery and may proceed to court.
That's the long and the short of it.
I've seen that a case at the beginning of the year (not with G24) went to court and the driver lost....so far.
What should I do now?
Thanks0 -
G24 don't do court. No point appealling to IAS.
You're in ignore mode for 6 years as per the Newbies thread. Make sure that you keep parties up to date with your address should you move so you don't get a CCJ by default (incredibly unlikely in this case)0
