Where Can I find Ex-Display Goods at Discounted Prices?

Hi all, just looking to get some recommendations for websites where ex display goods are sold at discounted prices. I am just waiting for my mortgage to be approved to move into a new home so i'd really like to look for some bargains and i thought maybe going for some ex display goods might be worth exploring. I like to find money-saving options where possible so any tips/recommendations are very welcome. Thanks Louise

Quite a lot of ex display stuff is sold on ebay. I recently managed to get an ex display built in Siemans Combination microwave oven for a fraction of the original selling price.

If you're in London or SE then there is this retailer who I bought my integrated washing machine from & often has ex display electrical items from the higher end of the market. http://www.ruislipappliances.com/
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

You need to be lucky sometimes and actually be in the shop when they are removing the displays. We bought a TV from ASDA at a fraction of the new price, they even had the box for it.
They guy even checked it for me and said there doesnt appear to be a remote for this one, but said speak to customer services and they will arrange a new one to be sent out.

I took it home as its only down the road, and unpacked it and there still wedged in the packing was the remote still in its bag with brand new batteries also sealed.

Thats the only time i have ever been that lucky though. I did goto my closest Currys when buying a DVD/HDD recorder, but they were awful, No box and no instructions and no remote and only knocked £20 off the new price???
As you may know these things are useless without the remote unless you just want to insert and eject a DVD.. No other buttons.

I went to the larger Curry's a short trip up the motorway and they had a large rack with ex-display items. Same recorder with instructions and remote attached but not boxed. It was less than 50% off the new price.

I have been to the Argos clearance in Walsall and its ram packed with stuff a lot cheaper than the Argos stores.

I bought a TV / DVD from there i got home and started testing it and the recording of what your watching/displaying was excellent. Then i tried the DVD and there was no DVD menu. Seems they must have fitted the internal board from a non DVD TV into the unit.
Had to take it back for a replacement, no issues but the new one doesnt record as well as the original one. Although that was a good few years ago and it gets used daily for TV and DVD and as a PC monitor.

You can pick up some good deals on Amazon Warehouse Deals, until Black Friday they have £50 off £200 too on selected open box. It's a bit of a pain as not everything is in the offer but they are often genuine deals. Had some 20-30% discounted items that were described as good or average that were just torn boxes, products were ok, plus they're all under Amazon guarantee so can be returned if no good.

There used to be at least one bloke with a van load of Argos returns there. Selling stuff from 50p-£2
We got a "new nearly working" laminator for 50p, it needed a new fuse.
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

You should be careful buying these from third parties. Not everything they sell is ex-display, regardless of what they claim. A lot of it is customer returns. Some of these are just change of mind but can not be resold due to being used. Quite a bit is because something is missing or there is a fault.

Third party sellers often buy a whole pallet of goods with no idea what, if anything is wrong with them and do not bother to test everything.

As above a lot of retailers sell their less than perfect goods on Ebay. Amazon Warehouse you can also get bargains if you do not mind a couple of scratches or it coming in a plain box.
