Haggling a lease deal

Hi all,
I'm looking at arranging a lease on a new BMW i3 and have received a lease quotation from BMW directly.
I've never leased a car before so am unsure whether you can haggle as much as you can when buying a used car. The price of the car is £40k, with 0% APR and a £4k deposit contribution from BMW and a £4.5k government grant deduction, meaning the lease total is £31.5k.
I know it's not an exact science, but can anyone give me an idea of (realistically) how much I should aim to reduce the price by? Or to put it another way, how much have others managed to reduce the on-the-road price by when negotiating a lease on a new car?
Many thanks for any advice
Matt

Are you talking about a lease or PCP? If it is lease then I don't see what the cars value has to do with anything - it's the deposit and monthly payments that matter.0

^The above. Is this a lease or a PCP?0

Sorry, I should have said it's PCP0

A good place to get a quote is from https://www.coast2coastcars.co.uk which will give you a good indication of what you can expect to look for in terms of dealer contributions/discounts etc.0

Why a PCP? Why not lease? Why not other options?
If you want a car at decent price go for the deal and not the make, then you should get a decent deal. If you decide on a premium car where manufacturers production is restricted to match sales you will never get the best deal.
Otherwise do the sums on lease, pcp, hp, bank loan, pre-reg, nearly new and second hand and work out which is the best deal for you.0 -
You can haggle a lot. Have a look round a few broker sites and search for the same model on carwow. That should give you a feel for the going rate.0

Also look on speakev they have an i3 forum where various lease deals often are mentioned much better than the dealers (I've been considering at i3 also)0

Except they don't list the i3 or i8.0 -

Still, I'd give them a call anyway because they're consistently one of the best places to organise a good deal on a new BMW.0
