My Acer Aspire 8935g laptop is nearly 7 years old and I am looking for a new replacement.
A brief specification of the 8935g is:
Processor Intel® Centrino® C2D (P8600, 2.4hz, 3MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB )
Screen 18.4" (Acer CrystalBrite, Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution, LED Backlit, high-brightness, 8 ms high-def response time, 16:9 aspect ratio)
Windows 10 upgraded from Windows 7
4gb memory
2 x SSDs (120gb and 250gb) that replaced the original 500gb disk.
I am looking for a modern equivalent laptop from a high quality and well respected manufacturer. I would be happy with another Acer but I will consider Dell, HP etc also.
I want at least a 17 inch screen with full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution. In addition to the usual internet browsing etc. I use it for viewing high quality photos taken with a digital camera and for editing HD music videos..
Sound quality is not too important as I don't play music on it.
I prefer two disk bays as that would allow me to use one of my current SSDs with all my data on it.
I don't play games so a gaming type laptop is not required.
Portability is unimportant as it never leaves the house.
I am willing to spend up to about £1,000 for the right laptop.
I would welcome suggestions.
Thanks
Edit: I want a laptop as I use it on my lap while seated on a sofa.

So you want a non-portable, large screen computer. I know you specifically asking about a laptop but you'd get a much better machine for the money if you went for a small form desktop and monitor instead.0

Yes, I know that but I can't put a desktop on my lap while sitting on a sofa which is how I use my laptop 99% of the time.0 -
