Qucken Alternative

Options
Hi, I have used Quicken for many years, but now it is no longer supported, I am having more and more problems now I have moved on to Windows 10. Can someone suggest a UK alternative. I'm not after investment/stocks and shares info, just accounts and savings tracking. Any help much appreciated. Thanks

A lot of people are using Microsoft Money, which is now available for free as it is unsupported but apparently it works well under Windows 10. I don't know whether you can easily import your data from Quicken.

Personally, I use AceMoney, which is a clone of MS Money and is supported. You should be able to import your Quicken data easily. They do a 30-day trial, I think. http://www.mechcad.net/products/acemoney/personal-finance-software-quicken-alternative.shtml
  • Thanks. I'll have a look. :)

I imported from Quicken into Money, but it was many years ago when I was unable to get Quicken for a new computer. Having just had a swift look, there is a menu option in Money called Convert Quicken File, so I'd imagine it will be relatively seamless.
  • I use Home Accountz (spelt with a ‘z’!). I don’t have enough post count to insert a link but Google them. It works on Win 10 and provides account and savings tracking perfectly adequately for my needs. It’s pretty flexible to set up and although it has its quirks I can adapt to them. There is a 30 day trial period if I recall rightly. You can also purchase a cloud backup service for around £20 a year (I’ve done that) and there is an app that enables you to post expenses from your phone if you wish – that may be conditional on your having the cloud backup installed.

I migrated from Quicken to an earlier version of the package. I can’t remember how I imported the data as it was a good few years ago; I may have backed up the Quicken data to a spreadsheet and manually entered opening balances. They have a user forum and you might find the answer there.

MS money on a PC, works great.
Multiple accounts, forecasts, future bills, share values but these
have to be updated manually with the latest prices. Monthly data of all accounts.

It's a simple spread sheet that will still work fine for people that haven't a CLUE where their money goes....Just enter ever thing you spend.

If you do not enter data then this program like most will be USE..LESS
