Cheap noise cancelling headphones

I can't afford ridiculous prices so sound quality doesn't have to be great. However noise cancelling is very important as we have bad neighbours. So based on all this can anyone make a good recommendation so I can watch TV in peace.

Stanley Ear Defenders from Screwfix or B&Q on top of Sennheiser or similar earbuds. Tenner for each.
Run an extension cable from TV to armchair or sofa

What googler said.
Noise cancelling works really well on constant noise like aircft engines but doesn't work on the sort of noise you're getting. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
Alternative to the headphone extension is, if the TV has optical out, is to run optical cable to the listening position, and site a DA Converter and headphone amp at that point, to plug earphones into this directly.
But still get the ear defenders.
You'll need visual aids for the phone and doorbell.0 -
Googler's suggestion would work very well, but a bit of a faff. I find ear buds uncomfortable for more than 30 min.
I would invest in Bluetooth over the ear headphones."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Then you need a bluetooth sender to attach to the TV as well as the phones, and you're away from the OP's desired cheap solution.

Over ear corded earphones would be a far simpler (and cheaper) solution than your proposal. £11.87 on Amazon.
You may, but I doubt OP would find it comfortable to wear the earbuds you recommend for hours at a time.
IMHO: Bluetooth speakers (with sender) is a far better solution and need not be expensive. £34.94 on Amazon"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Thanks, I will have a look at all suggestions. The sound I put up with is fairly low volume, it's a low vibrating type sound. I think they play their music slightly too loud. It's not bad enough to stop me sleeping but it is just enough to be annoying while watching tv. My cheap headphones from Asda don't block anything out. We already have an extension cable that stretches from the tv.0

Good luck.
John Lewis have a wide selection of head phones. They are not the cheapest, but they do have a no quibble refund. So if the ones you choose don't work as well as you hoped, you can take them back and try another pair.

You can get "noise isolating" earphones (or in-ear-monitors) which are like snug earbuds, or earplugs. They work by blocking noise out, rather than electronically cancelling it.
The ones I have aren't cheap as they have great sound quality, but there must be some cheaper ones out there.
I've been in a packed bar where people can only just be heard when you shout into people's ears! I put my earphones in and listened to classical music, and the background noise was barely noticeable.0 -
I wear wireless over the ear headphones, but at the same time wear earplugs and turn the volume up high on the headphones.0
