Hi everyone,
I'd be very careful with this offer.
I signed up for it and got the paperwork etc through the post. Now last night I was in Preston and my car just totally died out. It wouldnt fire back up and I was on Liverpool Road and at 10 p.m it wasnt that busy, but there were people and the odd car driving by.
Anyways, I rang my friend and told him what happened and he reminded me of the RAC cover that I had. I said good job that I've got that, let's give them a call and get my car to a garage.
I rang the RAC Breakdown and rescue team and I wasnt even on their system. WHAT THE ........??????
I had the orange coloured membership pack with me and my membership number but I didnt exsist on thier system.
After about 10 minutes of haggling with the breakdown assistant on the phone he tried to sell cover for about £125.00 or something like that, (what cheek). But I refused and left it at that with RAC. (BTW....I did manage to get home thanks to some friends who drove to Preston and towed me home).
Well,I got in touch with RAC this morning, and according to the customer services I am on their system so I tried calling the Breakdown Service Centre, and guess what, I'm not on their system.
Now when I got the cover out for myself I signed my friend up and I told him to ring them up with his membership details and see what they say.
He rang the breakdown centre and guess what, no details of him on thier system but he's on the customer services system.
So before you travel thinking your covered, I'd check with RAC.0 -
Wow thanks for all your replies, glad you all got it. Will have to make the people on the phone understand I signed up for their offere BEFORE it required a vehicle purchase check. Thanks for saying what happened to you Thegame. If i ever get my pack then I will ring RAC and make sure i'm on their system.0

Just had a call from the RAC. They said they have rectified the small glitch. I was (according to the guy I spoke to) on the CBAL systtem, the one the customer services use and it had not gone over to the Breakdown rescue system.
Well I think I'll ring tommorow with a "fake" breakdown and see if anything has changed.0
