    Hello Loveis,

I have recently joined the forum and your thread was one of the first I read. I completely get it and have the same thoughts in that not quite sure I'm ready for this but given your inspiration I'm going to get on the money saving wagon. I am the worst at over spending and need to reign myself in. Today I have cancelled a lot of bills such as bt sport, a gym I don't use etc. Trying to be more realistic just like you I find it difficult to be honest. I think its great that you're moving in with the other half. I have recently told my partner about my quest to be debt free and she is really supportive. She even suggests ways I could save money and things I could sell on eBay. :)

Anyhow, sounds like you have made some progress, and your thread has certainly meant I should just go for it as well. Trying not to spend too much over xmas :)

Hope to read more of your thread and pick up some tips. Have even bought a Jar of coffee for work. but its the willpower of using it I'm lacking. Day 1 of jar coffee begun today.

Paris is great, there are lots of things you can do on the cheap. Eat in the bakeries off the beaten track, can get a baguette for a few euro. And maybe do a bit of research and planning of where and when you will eat or go to ensure you don't fall into the tourist traps.

    good luck with it all!

Aw, thanks Lonire, it's definitely an up and down pattern, I think so long as most of the journey is up it's worth it.

I am more conscious of how much food I waste since I've been more aware of my spending, my new years plan is to forward plan meals better. I use a bullet diary for essays and work to do lists so it is my next step.

I have tried so many budgeting tools I just haven't found the one that works for me yet.

    Bobarella sooo nervous!

pay day December. This is a nightmare!

Season ticket sorted and decreased a zone with the move back to the north side of the river

Folks are sorting Christmas dinner, Gifts need wrapping but are being exchanged on Christmas eve so that's giving me a day or too to sort those out

Last rent to my old landlord stashed away so I can't spend it. Cook books all packed to move to my new place so I can start planning meals.

More organised me here I come.

    Happy holidays folks

so my first post of the new years.
I have an essay due in 10 days I haven't even opened a book. I have reports due, and a person down at work and I'm already broke because it's January.
But in the positives side, I have lunch for the week ready and no need to spend any money till Saturday when I shop for next week. No pressure though.
Hope everyone else is doing well. Will check in with everyone else's diaries and such as soon as I calm down and can find time X

I've been a bit lax this past little while.
I have days where I haven't spent a penny so the next day I spend double what I would normally.
I didn't go as far into my overdraft last month as I normally would, so that still gives me hope. Knowing that I am paying the same fees as if I used it all is a bit jarring..
If I can do the same next month I will talk to the bank about reducing it.
One step at a time, I have gone from eating lunch from tesco or Pret everyday to once a week tops. Feeling a bit better for it.
