Just had to remind friends that I put their train ticket for a day trip to Paris on my card. I feel awful. That's £80 though and a week before payday deffo needed. Worried about getting to work Thursday I can't borrow more off the BF, I have emergency £2 coins if it gets that desperate.. No more on my credit card. Ever if I can manage it.

Do you have a bicycle? I cycle or walk everywhere I can. Saves a fortune. Not possible for all I understand.

I would love to cycle Bobarella but I am not brave enough for London roads.
How fit would I be, though?! I do have a season ticket normally but I lost it on a journey of 3 changes and TFL don't do lost property for Oysters so I'm waiting on my replacement at the mo! Wow! Daily tickets are expensive! I can't use PAYG as it can't be refunded and a paper ticket is £2 more expensive a day!

If it wasn't for the ticket it would be a no spend day for me today.
A friend at work and I decided she'd make lunch one day and I'd do the other so we aren't both eating the same thing 3 days in a row. :)

    Happy hump day

I am in London too. If its an idea you are even remotely considering do look at the Sustrans website. It contains info on planning a safe route and has maps etc. You'd be surprised how much you can stay off the main roads.

Hope your replacement card comes ok. I just use the bus to bring my son home from school each day, which works out £3 per day due to the hopper fares. I bike everywhere else or walk if I have my baby with me.

Well done on being brave enough. I have seen a couple of accidents and have a friend who was trapped under a bus and I just can't bring myself too. I can ride to and around the park but that's about my lot.

My replacement is here, refund request already in place for the tickets I bought in the meantime, so hopefully that will be processed quickly.

I did buy some apple juice on my way into work this morning but no pennies out on lunch and BF's turn to source dinner :) I like today!

Tomorrow is payday so that is actually the real challenge. Not spending just because I can. (Or think I can) moving money around so everything goes where it needs too.

This is the first time I have ever changed accounts so I'm a bit nervous.

  • Your friend isn't the one who got trapped under the bus in Walthamstow, by any chance?

Think of payday tomorrow as a new start - the first day of a healthier financial life. Thing also of getting three weeks in and KNOWING that you essential spending is covered, that your bills will be paid, for the rest of the month.

Good news on the replacement ticket turning up! Fingers crossed for a speedy refund now! :T

No EH though my manager's son knows him, this was south of the river by Bermondsey (I don't know south well so everything is near there)

Just had a minor fight with the BF as he has no filter with spending money on weekends away and now wants to go away in Jan! Wants to help me be sensible but only when it suits him! ARGH

Positive thinking is the way forward, this is the first November pay I'm not worried about frittering away on presents that are forgotten my New Years :)

  • Positive thinking indeed - that's great!

As for the BF - the word "no" may have to come into play... ;) Hold firm and stand your ground.

And PMSL about everything South being near Bermondsey. I'm in a similar state with all things "Sarf of the river" myself! North of the Thames rules! :D

North of the Thames definitely rules EH, I am a bit of a traitor for a while, it's not home though, so looking to get back to the right side (actually the reason for getting my bum into gear)

"No" was said, ignored and said again. He just gets excited. I hate letting him down but it's for both our sakes to stick to my guns.

Money for my rent transferred, money or my phone bill and npower in the right place. Money from the ticket refund will go to paying back the BF and then I should be on the right track for this month.

I already feel like I'm poor. I need to open a new account that has no overdraft so I can stop looking at the - and then feeling annoyed, which equals may as well spend it thoughts. I'll never clear it that way.

I haven't bought anything yet though and it's lunch time on payday on Blackfriday!

Planning on finishing Christmas shopping tomorrow, and viewing a flat for my BF to move into. (Ee're just not in the space to live together, he earns less than me and has actual savings. We need to be evenish before I think either of us will be ok with living together. Also both been in bad relationships making us nervous about jumping back in)

I can do this. First day of a healthier financial life!

    Hiya

How awful about those people, I am so sorry to hear it. I certainly don't want to turn your diary into a campaign to get you cycling, it can be dangerous no denying it.

You are doing great by the way, sounds like you've really got if together :)
