Help/Info:car being wriiten off after previously being told repairs were authorised

My car was in an accident, as I was not at fault i was put through to another company by my insurer who then arranged for a garage to repair it. On Wednesday I got a call from the garage to say repairs had been authorised and they were just awaiting parts only to receive a text message the next day telling me my car was a total loss and i had 6 days to collect it or there would be a charge.

I think the garage has given a quote to the insurer; who's accepted it, but now i think they've added things on/increased the price. Is this right?

Any help would be appreciated

    This doesn't make any sense.

I suggest you give your insurer a call and find out what is happening

You can't do anything. Accept the right off and accept a cheque in the post from the insurers for the blue book value of your car.

So you're advising them to accept the first offer?

Vinny this poster is a troll.

Entirely possible that they've started to strip the car down, and found hidden damage that hadn't been taken into account beforehand.

Point them to whoever organised it on behalf of your insurer. Their problem.
