Hello Everyone,
Thank you in advance for reading my thread that i need some advice with please.
Back on 8/10/16 i received a parking fine in the Borough Of Westminster, Parking in a restricted street during prescribed hours, which i hold my hands up to, for some reason i thought it was sunday.
Anyhow, I dated & posted a cheque for £85 ( Ouch) on 13th October and obtained proof of postage, in which i wrote on the parking slip enclosed i had obtained proof, and posted it on its merry way.
I noticed it was cashed on 31st october, so threw away the original top part of ticket and proof as thought that was the end of it.
In the meantime i had received no correspondence or further letters from the westminster parking services at this point.
I then returned home yesterday 17th November to a letter dated 14/11/16, ( 37 days after original fine & 14 days after cheque was cashed) That they require a further £65 from me as the fine was not paid in the specified time for the £65 charge).
I made contact with them and said that i had received no notification that you was accepting this as part payment and that as far as i was concerned they have entered the contract of accepting full and final payment of £65 with nothing notifying me to the contrary.
I have made an appeal just now on line stating this and why leave it all this time to now inform me.
Could anyone give me any advice please on where i stand with this.
Many Thanks
M

if this is council I suggest you post the info over on pepipoo along with scans or photos of any paperwork (post in the council ticket section on there)0

Thank you..... I don't have any paperwork other than letter requesting further £65 as i threw all paperwork away once cheque was cashed as that was evident they had received.0

I'm curious about the £85 you paid them or is it a typo?I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0
