Workaround for TSB 5% contactless cashback ending?

Options
The cashback offer comes to an end for some customers at the end of the year but lasts until September 2017 for newer customers

Do you think if I downgrade the accounts to a Classic then re-upgrade them to Classic Plus it will extend the offer? Anyone tried this?

i think that it is for new accounts so would say you would need to close and open a new one. As you are using plural does that mean you have two in your sole name? if so that is limited to one only now so would say if you closed them (or even downgraded to upgrade again works) you would not get two classic plus' back.

When is "the exact date" the 5% cashback is ending for last year customers. I am assuming the date is when the purchase appear on the statement so any purchase done before the ending will still earn cashback on the next statement date ??
I concur, but it's nothing to do with "statement date".
Also I will appreciate the answer from the op question which is coming from someone who has actually tried it .....
I'd be very surprised if anyone has done this yet, with over a month to go...what with loss of both interest and cashback whilst in the wait period, and also a great many people, especially on here, will have two Plus accounts and won't want to give them both up?

Interest on contactless is definitely based on date of use, as I queried two weekend spends, at the end of a month, which appeared dated as the 3rd of the following month and was told that they were counted in the actual month they were made.
  • The offer ends on 31st December for everyone that opened their account previous to June this year. Lasts until Sept 2017 if you opened it since then.
