It does affect her as she would previously have received the additional £100 at age 60, that doesn't now happen until 66. A loss of £600 plus 6 years less pension income.
I understood the WFP was only to buy Christmas presents for the grandchildren. However perhaps I misunderstood. :rotfl:0 -

But WFP is awarded PER HOUSEHOLD - the £100 your wife will get (if WFP is still around then) isn't in addition to the £200 you are currently receiving. When she becomes eligible for WFP and recieves £100 your entitlement will drop to £100 at the same time.
As you say that you have been receiving WFP since you were 60 as a household you are no worse off - her £600 loss is your individual gain.0 -
I'm not affected by the change. I did start receiving my WFP at 60 as I am now 65. Now, instead of my wife retiring 6 months after me, she has to continue working for 6 1/2 years. Some might say that every cloud has a silver lining, but I couldn't possibly comment. :rotfl:
Which was the reason for the discrepancy in SRP ages. Women tended to be younger than their husbands, so the idea was they'd retire at the same time so she could look after him.Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
