We have the cardboard versions (£6-10 on Amazon.) Amazing quality with an iPhone, but only used the once as an afternoon of family fun. I suffer from seasickness so found it awful!
And this is the problem with the cheap ones. They use the phones sensors for head tracking. This is absolutely nothing like what you get with something like the GearVR which has similar sensors as the Rift DK2 built into it. Cardboard (even with a decent phone) can make you throw up in minutes. Its more likely to put more people off VR than make them like it.0 -
Sounds wonderful Thorsoak. I can't imagine any 13 year old not wanting that.
I think they're a bit pricey though!

THIS one is even more.

Plus, I think you need something to 'connect' with it, like a tablet or laptop.
So I think you would have to have the money to throw away, and also be sure she would want it. I wouldn't want to spend £100-£200 and then discover she didn't even want it.
That's quite cheap compared to the playstation tag of £350 , I was expecting black Friday to drop to drop price but no

It has gone a little lower (sometimes with a code). It's only been out since October though and being VR it's something a lot of people want so doesn't make sense for them to lower the price right now.
The PS VR is much cheaper than the Xbox One OR! £549!0 -
I'll vote against it

Too much technology isn't healthy for young people or anyone really! Unless it's something she really wants
