there is not enough to go around!
Wonder how secure the DVLA database is then, ???
I mean the DVLA already let scammers access it0 -
Even if this isn't a direct hit on the PPC's data, I just wonder how many would pass muster if a real cyber attack took place (or even if a spotty yoof had a go from his bedroom)? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

No reg number or any other kind of verifiable data - this is solely an email-based scam.0

Members of the Public tricked by scammers pertaining to be scammers trying to trick them out of their money like scammers who trick people out of money?
Same story in the Burton mail here http://www.burtonmail.co.uk/parking-ticket-scam-warning-as-drivers-are-targetted/story-29891513-detail/story.html wouldnt take much to re-write that to fit the standard situation, only a few word changes ( especially the bit about UKPC being a legitimate company)
Although in all seriousness, anyone receiving a demand for money should always investigate fully and never pay up, on a whim. if more people did that then the standard PPC model would be dead in the waterFrom the Plain Language Commission:

I wonder why they selected UKPC as their 'partner' in this? Nothing to do, I'm sure, with UKPC's past record in the 'dodgy' department. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. It traces back to a Russian ISP, so IMO its a genuine phishing scam, not a fake UKPC ticket.
Unless someone at UKPC is trading data but I doubt I'd feel that sorry for them if it was.
Don't assume a trace back to a Russian ISP means it is someone in Russia. It could be someone anywhere in the World, including the office next the company being scammed.0 -

True but the language ticks boxes for foreign and that's all the free detective work UKPC are going to get out of me!0 -
Its unquestionably spam, phishing or a conduit for malware.0
