How to waste 8 hours at Newark airport

Just rang BA to ask if we could pay to have lounge access, unfortunately NO.
Don't want to travel into Manhatten just in case any delays in returning to the airport, I'm a bit of a worrier.
There's an airport hotel nearby where we could go have coffee, but even I could only make that last an hour.
Any suggestions on how to pass the time. Here goes I'm waiting for your replies.:rotfl:

If it is just you and not kids etc, I would take a fantastic book that you just can't get your head out of. The time should fly by, I would imagine.more dollar$ than sense0

That will add to my valuable hand luggage space cos I doubt I'll finish before takeoff. Once on the plane I'll watch the movies and try get some sleep.
Thanks

if you have an egg card you automagically get refunded 50% on pay-in airport lounges making them affordable. i did this for 5 hours at Hong Kong airport and it was well worth it (esp as i was on long haul to oz) as i took a shower, browsed the free net, read all the papers and stuffed myself on the free buffet.0

Hmmm well let's see..
You can take a tour of the airport...you can get Euros, Pounds from one of the airside ATM's heh and if that doesn't take up all your time (joking :P ) then you can give this site a look http://www.10best.com/EWR/ to see if find something to kill time with.

If you fancy some shopping at an outlet centre :-
http://www.jerseygardens.com/info/information.cfm
It's a five minute cab ride away or catch their shuttle for $3 and if you go to the info desk and show your passport they'll give you a discount book. All clothing/shoes etc are TAX FREE in New Jersey so there are some real bargains to be had !0 -
Hi Lounge Pass website are quoting £20.00 for the Newark Lounge (Continental President Suite). Seems good value for 3 hours or so.No Matter what you do there will be critics.0

continental will let you pay to use their lounge on the day. is it 8 hours you've got from expected landing to expected take off
should of added that most lounges where your ticket doesn't qualify you for entry won't let you spend 8 hours in it0 -

Thanks for all the replies.
We have about eight hours before our return to UK flight, so will have all our luggage (unless we can check that in early-I'm sure we can do that).
