Can't find wedding insurance!!!Help!!!

OMG!!!My deposit for my wedding venue has to be paid tomorrow and I won,t pay it before setting up cancellation cover.Trouble is I can't find suitable wedding insurance.
The problem is firstly the date,5th Nov 2009,I can't find anyone who covers more than 2 years in advance.
Next problem is that my wedding is in the middle of a family holiday,in scotland, so its more like a wedding week than a wedding day,I can,t find anyone who will cover the full week rather than just the day.
Does anyone know of a company who can provide a bespoke insurance service wedding insurance for my wedding.
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Can you expand a bit on this, as I'm having trouble understanding....I'm having a dumb day, I admit!

Have you tried your local insurance broker? They might be able to arrange something for you, or at least give you some advice.
  • Although the actual wedding ceremony is on Thurs 5th Nov,we are having a week long celebration/family holiday starting on the saturday before and ending the saturday after the ceremony. We will have only 12 people in total and the week will have a full itinery of activities and outings and include the wedding on the 5th.I need insurance to cover it all,its basically a family holiday with a wedding thrown in.

  • Has anything been booked so far with regards to the family holiday? I'm trying to understand what you want covered. e.g 1 or 2 or more people not being able to turn up or total cancellation?
  • Have you tried hiscox.com, it would come under event insurance, you can get a quote online but they specialise in tailored policies so if it won't go through online ring them and they will probably cover it, it might be pricey though, as far as an insurance company is concerned there is a lot that could go wrong between now and Nov 09.

You are paying your deposit early aren't you I don't suppose you could put that back a bit?

I know, its not ideal, but the company letting the castle had it pencilled in for me but sent me a lease agreement for the weeks hire stating deposit must be paid by this Thurs to secure the property at the price agreed. They had wanted an additional £500 for use of the chapel but I complained and they included it for free.If I don,t meet their deadline they could put the price back up.

  • Thanks Millies Mum,I have e-mailed Hiscox with a request for info.

  • I see what you mean the price would go up, I hadn't thought of it that way

Have a look at Hiscox though they sell themselves as specialists in tailored policies so if you are struggling to get insurance elsewhere you should be right up their street

Edit sorry, cross posted, good luck with it

I've just noticed that there's a Weddings and Anniversary's Forum here too (Under Christmas and Special Occasions). I don't know maybe if you've already posted/searched there, but maybe have a look through some posts as there's bound to be some help.

I looked through BIBA for brokers for insurance... most of them have websites so might be worth having a look... It's quite a long list a-z so I'll just post the link: Scroll down to Events: Wedding Insurance
