Have they put me at risk?

I recently signed up to Experian to check my credit score which turned out to be very good so on 12th November I cancelled membership as I only wanted to check my credit score. On 16th November they've sent me an alert email saying that there have been 11 searches on my report (not carried out by me). I've had 21 years of problem-free good credit scoring so I'm now cynical that there should be an issue within a few weeks of me signing up and subsequently cancelling my Experian account. Could joining or leaving Experian have put me at risk?

No. They're just keen for you to rejoin and pay. The searches are very likely to be soft, non visible searches - insurance companies, etc.
Don't pay to check your credit score, as that's irrelevant. Just pay £2 each time you want to check the data on your files, to make sure it;s correct.0 -
Yes, they were insurance companies. What do you mean by 'soft searches'?0

ID checks, etc - they don't show as searches to other lenders, in the way that a credit application would.0

Change all your cards, the locks on your house. You cannot be too sure these days!
