It's almost a certaintly that one of your co-workers will have an old car lying about somewhere they can loan/sell you for your trip, and if they don't, a relative/friend might. Especially somewhere like Dallas where cars won't rust much, it's common for people with the space to just park them up in case they need them later.0 -
When I moved to the USA in the nineties, car insurance was a nightmare. No company or agent would accept UK no claims evidence, and they all insisted on a minimum of two years' residence before they would consider me. In the end a CPA friend used his influence with his insurance company and got me fairly minimal cover at $275 a month (this was in 1994).
I was in California, so things might be a bit easier in other states.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0
