How can i secure large expensive plant pots outdoors?

We have two large planters which are bit expensive lining our drive that i would like to secure down to stop them getting pinched!
What would be best way to secure them?

Have they got holes in the bottom? I'd be inclined to put in a ground anchor in then padlock a metal bar into the inside of the pots at the base. A cheap answer is to use a large penny washer (or piece of wood) inside the pot, and a coach bolt straight through to a wall plug set in the paving... If there is such! It's actually effective on soft ground if you use a suitable y-shaped stick in the pot.

How large? Once you've put the stones or grit in the base for drainage, soil, a plant and watered it all they should be too heavy to lift at the very least.

Bury one of those breeze blocks with holes in it, wired to something across the hole in the pot. Allow about a foot of wire, that should make them hurt their backs and regret trying to nick your pots.
