Morphy Richards Food processor spares

Can anyone advise if you know if food processor model 400010 internal spares are available anywhere?
I suspect the motor speed control board (microcomputer controlled/triac pwm I think). Not available from MR or spares suppliers I usually use. Search has revealed nothing so far.

Or.....somewhere to pick one up second hand?

A bit of a long shot but it is in good condition otherwise and only just out of warranty.....grrrrrr!

  • Thanks Sam, nothing listed on the site but I will ask them.
  • After investigation it turns out to be a failure of the microcomputer on the control board, and I cannot fix that.

The BAD NEWS for anybody buying Morphy Richards food processor (and also several other brands in the same price bracket) is that most parts are NOT available as spares, exceptions seem to be beaters and the like.

Speaking with Morphy Richards customer services they will do a like for like replacement under warranty for failures. They do not do repairs.

With warranty no longer applicable (not actually out of date but cannot now provide any proof of purchase from Argos) even though I know exactly to the nearest hour when and where purchased neither Argos or Morphy Richards will help.

Morphy have offered a big "discount" from their standard price - that just brings it down to the price sold in many a shop!! - but given the lack of support/spares I would now not buy another Morphy Richards.

Lesson do not waste £85, make sure you keep the receipt, register your warranty, don't pay by cash.....don't do it again:o

OR maybe buy Kenwood as they seem to have all spares available and really the equivalent mixer is hardly significantly dearer:T

P.s. can somebody cross post to 'praise, vent and warnings'?
  • I was under the impression that your credit card statement / bank statement enty was proof of purchase ??
You don't need an actual receipt from the shop that you purchased the goods from.
Now I might be wrong of course !!

    :p:p:p................
  • :o:o:o:o:o Yes paid by cash so no evidence that will be accepted by retailer or manufacturer. Not even an email from an 'it's ready ' message.

Now my small local shop would have asked when did you buy it and just look up their records!
I cannot believe that the particular Argos shop sold more than perhaps one or two in the hour in question.....but that's water under the bridge now :(
