Recorded delivery?

I recently got a PCN from CPM, I followed advice on these forums and sent them the default appeal letter. Today I received the second threat, saying the charge has now gone from £60 to £100 as expected but they haven't mentioned my appeal letter and I haven't received separately about it.
I sent the letter by first class postage and I feel like I'd have heard something by now if they were going to reply. People on this forum have said that appealing at the first stage is a good way to show any potential Judges that you atleast tried to reason with them.. but as it currently stands there is no proof they received a letter from me.
My question is, should I have sent my appeal letter by recorded delivery? Is it too late now?
Thanks,
Aaron

Dis you get proof of posting from Post Office? These firms are known to refuse recorded delivery.0

I did not, I know I'm stupid for not doing!0

the correct procedure is a free certificate of posting at the post office, not recorded , it is deemed delivered , 2 days later
there is no reason why you can not do this again, with a free cert of posting
expect them to refuse any and all appeals , then its IGNORE mode , for 6 years , unless you get an LBC or an MCOL0 -
Do as Redx has advised, but say that as they seem to have lost the original, here is a copy for their records. Please don't lose this one.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.
