Declaring Anxiety on Travel Insurance

Hello all
I'm going on holiday to see a university friend in Brazil, figured I should buy travel insurance just in case.
When I go to declare an existing condition: anxiety, suddenly the premium goes up by £110!
I've read around a bit and people are saying to declare it in case I make a claim, however, if this claim is based purely on an accident and not related to anxiety can the insurer still decline my claim?
I mean it's anxiety for christs sake! If anything I'm less likely to be injured or make a claim from lack of doing anything out of my comfort zone...
Any ideas?

If you don't disclose it and need to claim then the insurer will discover you lied about pre existing conditions (from your medical records)
So its your call!
clearly your condition has significance if the loading is £100!!0 -
I would agree it has significance, but not in respect to the breaking a leg or having an accident.
Perhaps in becoming overcome by the experience of travelling abroad, so cancellation probability is higher. But from experiencing the condition It only affects social situations, so it hardly relates to any physical injury, which is all I'm really interested in.
If you had depression and you had the unfortunate extreme scenario where you broke an ankle, how is that even related?
How can you defend the additional £100 insurance anyway? Insurance companies are the stingiest money grabbers in the world!0 -
Are you using a comparison site or is it just one company? Maybe shopping about would be better.
I declared mental health problems including anxiety and depression when I last bought travel insurance. IIRC, it didn't increase the price at all. Though that was with a very low end, budget insurer. Maybe they were unlikely to pay out anyway so didn't care.
It might be a good idea to speak to a few insurers over the phone rather than doing it online.0
