Hi guys, first time posting so be nice
I got my first parking ticket on 17/09/2016 which was for parking in a pub car park, walking over to the local park, before returning to the pub for some lunch.
Now this parking ticket was issued 2 minutes after I had arrived and it seems to me that somebody was blatantly watching for people arriving and walking to the park.
I had 14 days to pay the initial payment of £60, which would rise to £100 if it wasn't paid within 14 days. I paid it on 30/09/2016, 13 days after it was issued, early morning around 7am.
The money left my account, I went about my business until today I received a letter through from the parking company requesting another £40. I had looked through my bank statement on my phone and it showed as the money leaving on 03/10/2016, however the reference shows 30/09/2016.
I wanted to find out if there was a chance of Not paying this? It's a company called Vehicle Control Services which I've seen an absolute tonne of posts about.
Any advice is appreciated

You paid £60, which flagged you up as a complete mug, and they were not wrong. As a "mug", they now think they can keep coming back for more.
Sorry, tried to be "nice", but you've kind of walked into this with your eyes shut, and not even questioning the ludicrous charge in the first place.0 -
Yes, I understand that part, however how is that offering advice moving forward?
As a "mug" am I required to pay more, or can I just keep the letters in a dark cupboard?0 -
As you now know, you weren't "required" to pay the first £60. You certainly shouldn't pay them any more. So Id' go for your latter option. No real point in trying to reason with them, as they won't care. Just file the letters, and keep an eye out for a Letter Before Claim or court papers in the next 6 years. As a "mug" am I required to pay more, or can I just keep the letters in a dark cupboard?0
