Aldi

Hi guys,
I'm in the process of disputing a pcn from PE at Aldi as a RK. I confronted the manager today at the tills in front of customers :rotfl:and he told me what I've read on the forum but didn't have figures, Aldi will cancel if you spend over £35 or less than 15 mins overstay. The RK in my case spent £192 and was 12 mins overstay, so I,m not expecting any issues. I have however appealed to PE in case it gets lost at Aldi Headquarters. Will let you know the result and thanks for the advice on the forum

    Received this today from Aldi

    Dear Mr XXXX

Thank you for your recent email containing your proof of purchase.

I hope you can appreciate the need to have a car park management system in place, in a number of our stores across the UK, to ensure the provision of car parking availability to all our customers.

As you are aware, ParkingEye manages the car park using number plate recognition cameras that monitor cars entering and leaving the car park. This system is in place to ensure free parking for our customers.

On the basis of the evidence you have provided, I am able to contact ParkingEye on your behalf to have the charge cancelled. You will receive written confirmation directly from ParkingEye within 28 days.

Should you have any further enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact our free Customer Service Helpline on 0800 042 0800, and we will be more than happy to help.

We hope this satisfactorily resolves the matter for you and look forward to welcoming you in to our stores again soon.

    Yours sincerely

    Jo Bennett

Well done on complaining in the store. Just be aware that it is not cancelled until parking lie say in writing that it is cancelled.
I hope you appealed as keeper, not driver, in case you need to take this further.

I hope you also consider shopping elsewhere and tell the CEO of Aldi why you are doing so. Genuine shoppers should not be scammed, and should not have to jump through hoops to get a ticket cancelled.

Fruitcake - thanks for the advice about only writing as RK, yes I have, it's not the first time I've beaten PE , but the first time before reaching Popla I've also e-mailed the CEO of Aldi, but not holding breadth. It was quite funny watching manager squirm when he tried to convince me Aldi didn't own the land but PE did He also said I had to contact PE rather than head office but wouldn't help me directly !! He said if PE wouldn't cancel it then get back to him
such poor customer service for a genuine customer - I was hoping he would sort it direct when he saw the receipts. I won't be shopping there again !!!
He definately said OR regarding £35 or 15 mins so looks like they give 5mins grace entrance plus minimum 10 exit

Once you have the proof of cancellation from parking lie, tell the CEO just that. Send as many copies of receipts or redacted bank statements from yourself, friends and family as you can to show him/her how much trade they have lost because of parking lie.

Then go on fakebook etcetera and tell your story.

The spend threshold used to be £30. I wonder if PE had any hand in upping it to £35. Time limit reduced, spend level increased.
