renewing with same provider after cancelling

So I am i am renewing boiler cover. I am currently with British Gas.

After using a comparison site I can see considerably better cover available with various providers.

The best offer however is British gas. It is similar to current cover but substantially cheaper.

The British Gas T&C's say the following :-

Introductory offers
If you cancel a product, then buy a product with equivalent features from British Gas:
• More than once in three years
• Or,withinthreemonths
then you won’t be eligible for any promotional offers or new customer prices

If I let my insurance lapse and then sign up the next day with British Gas and they accept my sign up, can they subsequently refuse to pay out in the event of a claim?

If it is a new customer price then as you would be buying it within three months you would not be entitled to the new customer price, per the terms you have quoted.
