Hi everyone,
I am booking a train, and I've been given the option of GNER 1ST ADVANCE2. What does this mean? Is it first class?

This is indeed a 1st class ticket - as can be seen from the GNER 1ST ADVANCE2. ADVANCE2 means that it is the 2nd in that band of available fares.
What you get in first class depends on when you are travelling - but you generally get free nibbles and stuff like that.

Yes it is 1st class, bigger seat, free tea and coffee and some peanuts, papers too. You cant use the 1st class lounges at the station and still have to stick to the train the ticket is booked for. Worth the extra, so long as it's not too much extra.0

Re: First class lounges
I found a trick for that one - if starting from London buy a First Day Single from London to Stevenage.0 -

I spoke to someone on the phone who said that a meal is included too. Oh I can't wait!Cake please...0 -
I think that one is possibly dependant on what train you're on - I think it also costs slightly extra....0
