Natwest Railcard Slipup

Options
I am basically at a loss as to what to do and if i even have a leg to stand on. Here goes the story in short form.
I started university last year for one term and took out a Natwest account.
I then realised i wanted to do a different course so took a year out. During all this applying for my rail card was the last thing i was thinking about so i put it off (i also already had one.)
After leaving University 1 i lost the form and only came round to applying this summer now i am going to a new university. When i rang natwest to request a new form they simply said it was not possible and i had to have applied by Christmas. My only argument is that i'm still a first year student (going to a different university, different course and a whole new UCAS ID.) Infact i will happily lose my first year i would simply like the remaining four years of my rail card. Whenever i talk to Natwest they simply say it is outside their terms and conditions but surely they have already put aside the money for the railcard (i am not bothered about losing the first year.) How does this differ from a lost or stolen rail card!?
My parents think i should just close my account out of principle who should i move to Halifax? HSBC? Does anyone know how awkward it is changing the account my student loan is payed into?

Any help would be appreciated!

Well you should know when your student loan will be paid, so after you've received it, close the account, open a new one with whichever bank you choose, then phone the student loan company with your new details. Not much effort really, although don't forget to call the student loan company!

If the T&Cs said apply before xmas, then it's your fault for not applying before christmas, so don't blame Natwest, as you had a whole term to apply!!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
