Travel insurance query

I am about to purchase an insurance policy for myself for a trip to Morocco with a friend. She has her own insurance policy with a different company but has a pre existing health condition. In the unfortunate event of her falling ill and needing an extended stay ( I wouldn't want to leave her there on her own) or us having to curtail the holiday could I claim for my losses and expenses on my policy?

If she were to fall ill before the trip and was unable to travel where do I stand? The T&C's don't mention these scenarios for travelling companions insured elsewhere.

Comments

  • If you wanted to stay with her it would have to be covered under her insurance. You would need to inform your insurers about your friends pre existing conditions because it may give rise to you cancelling or curtailing your trip.

Just make sure you read the policy wording carefully.
